2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what happens to your personal information when you use aspiretobe.co.uk: browsing the site, contacting us, joining our mailing list, downloading free resources, or booking a call.
If you go on to become a coaching client, we will give you a separate notice explaining how we handle the information you share during coaching.
Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
For details on cookies, see our Cookie Policy.

We only collect what we need for each thing you do on the site. The law requires us to have a lawful reason, called a "legal basis", for each use. When you…

Legitimate interests means we use your information in ways you would reasonably expect, where our reason does not outweigh your rights. You can object at any time (see section 9).
We do not sell your information, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means.
4. Health and wellbeing information
You never need to share health or personal wellbeing details to contact us or book a call. Some people choose to, because it helps explain what they want from coaching.
The law treats this as "special category" information and protects it more strictly. If you share it, we:
use it only to prepare for and hold our conversation
rely on your explicit consent,
never use it for marketing or share it with anyone else
delete it on request, or 2 years after our call if you don't become a client
You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, and we will delete it.
5. Our emails
We only send our newsletter to people who have asked for it. We send it through Squarespace Email Campaigns.
Our emails contain a small tracking image and tracked links. These show us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can make our emails more useful. You can stop this by turning off images in your email app.
Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to unsubscribe. We never share our mailing list or send you marketing from other companies.
If you book a call, we will still send emails needed to arrange it, such as confirmations and reminders. These are not marketing.
6. Who we share your information with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the website and our calls. They act on our instructions, under contracts that require them to keep your information safe, unless the table says otherwise.

We may also share information:
with professional advisers, such as our accountant, lawyer or insurer, when they need it to advise us
with the police, courts or regulators, when the law requires it
with a buyer, if our business or part of it is ever sold, who would have to treat it in line with this policy
7. Information sent outside the UK
Squarespace, Calendly, Google, Zoom and LinkedIn are based in, or store data in, the United States and other countries. So your information may leave the UK.
When it does, it is protected by a recognised legal safeguard: the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the "UK–US data bridge") where the provider is certified to it, or otherwise the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. For visitors in the EEA, the equivalent EU safeguards apply.
If a safeguard changes, we will rely on another lawful one and update this policy. Email us for details of the safeguard covering a particular provider.
8. How we keep it safe
The website uses an encrypted connection (you'll see the padlock in your browser).
Our accounts with Squarespace, Calendly, Google and Zoom are protected by strong passwords and two-step verification.
Only people who need your information to do their job can see it.
We choose providers with recognised security standards.
No system is completely secure. If something goes wrong and it is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you promptly. Where the law requires, we will also report it to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
be told how we use your information (this policy)
get a copy of the information we hold about you
have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete
have it deleted
limit how we use it
object to us using it, including for any marketing
take it with you in a commonly used format
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email michael.ellisbailey@aspiretobe.co.uk. It costs nothing. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
We will reply within one month. If your request is complex, we may need up to two more months, and we will tell you why within the first month. We will make reasonable and proportionate searches for your information.
Some rights have limits. For example, we may need to keep certain records for legal reasons. If we can't do what you ask, we will explain why.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us. You don't need to use any particular words or form.
Post: Aspire to Be International Limited, 20 Kesteven Way, Bourne, Lincolnshire, England, PE10 9AH
We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it without undue delay, keep you updated, and tell you the outcome.
You can also complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at any time: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
11. If you are visiting from outside the UK
Our services are aimed at people in the UK, but anyone can visit the site. Wherever you are, you get the same choices and protections described in this policy.
European Economic Area: you have the same rights as in section 9 under the EU GDPR. You can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
United States: some states, including California, give you rights to know, correct and delete your information, and to opt out of it being used for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. Our marketing cookies only load if you accept them, so choosing Decline all on our cookie banner, or switching them off in Cookie preferences, opts you out. Email us for any other request.
Elsewhere: email us and we will help with any request about your information.
12. Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once a year, and whenever we change how the website collects information. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will highlight it on the site and tell mailing-list subscribers by email.
